Day 1
Arrive and settle into the Lakes

5 days · 4 nights · 4–6 guests
Five days. A handful of guests. One unforgettable landscape.
The journey
This four-night, five-day hosted holiday brings together the places that make the Lake District so special: broad waters, stone villages, mountain roads, welcoming pubs and views that make you stop in your tracks.
You’ll stay in one high-quality Lake District hotel throughout, avoiding the fuss of packing up and changing rooms every night. Your host takes care of the driving and the rhythm of each day.

An example itinerary
Weather, local events and the interests of the group may influence individual days. That flexibility is part of the pleasure: the right place at the right time matters more than ticking boxes.
Day 1
Meet your host and fellow guests, settle into the hotel and ease into the trip. Depending on arrival times, we may take a gentle orientation drive or walk before a relaxed first evening together.
Day 2
Explore the shores of Windermere and spend time in Ambleside. Visit the Heaton Cooper Gallery and the Wordsworth experience, with room for coffee, browsing independent shops and an unhurried lunch.
Day 3
Follow beautiful country roads towards Hawkshead and traditional Lakeland villages, including the Beatrix Potter experience. A short optional walk leads to Tarn Hows, one of our favourite viewpoints.
Day 4
Cruise on Coniston Water and visit Brantwood, John Ruskin's house. Then discover the Donald Campbell Blue Bird experience, with viewpoints and local cafés along the way.
Day 5
Enjoy a final morning around Grasmere, with time to wander and take in the valley. We return at a comfortable pace for onward journeys.
Who is it for?
You don’t need to be a keen walker. This is gentle exploration, shaped around scenery, local life, good food and the pleasure of being somewhere beautiful.
The tours also suit guests with limited mobility: your host provides transport right to the door of every activity, viewpoint and restaurant.

Solo travellers
Solo travellers are particularly welcome. A small hosted group provides natural companionship over a day out or dinner, while leaving you with your own room, space and independence whenever you want it.
Single-room supplements apply.

Meet your host
Warm, knowledgeable and endlessly patient, Jemima has more than ten years’ experience hosting and guiding small-group tours across the UK.
The Lake District is a particular passion. She knows not only the famous landmarks, but also the quiet villages, hidden viewpoints, favourite country pubs and little local stories that can turn a good trip into a memorable one.
Jemima’s relaxed, unhurried approach is at the heart of the experience. She’s accustomed to looking after guests with different interests, personalities and levels of mobility, and is adept at dealing calmly with everything from a last-minute change of plan to the unpredictable Lake District weather.
Most importantly, Jemima is there to make your holiday easy. From collecting you in the morning and taking care of the day’s arrangements to recommending the perfect lunch stop, there’s always someone on hand who knows where you’re going and what happens next.
Think of her less as a tour guide and more as your personal Lake District host.
